This time I will show you how to obtain a free Sigaint email and explain some of its advantages and features, because everyone loves free stuff on the Internet!

First a little FAQ made by myself :)

What exactly is Sigaint? Sigaint is the name of a service that gives you a free anonymous email address that you can use so you do not compromise your private information. Excellent to use in some shady deals :) Or simply to avoid spam.

Why was Sigaint created? The objective was basic, create an anonymous email service that guarantees the security of its users. It was primary targeted for persons that deal with sensitive information, that would get into trouble if they were discovered, guys like  Julian Assage from wiki leaks and other reporters. Later on scammers, cracker, hackers etc started to discover the wonders of anonimity and the service as grown a bit.

Where can I get the email? To get a signait email like: securityfreak@sigaint.org you need to open your TOR browser and go to this link: http://sigaintevyh2rzvw.onion/ from there is pretty straight forward, you press signup button and follow the steps.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How much storage space does an account receive?

Free accounts receive 50 Megabytes. SIGAINT Pro accounts receive 1,024 Megabytes.

Do you support POP3/IMAP/SMTP AUTH?

Yes, but only on SIGAINT Pro accounts. To upgrade your account to SIGAINT Pro, please visit our upgrade page.

Do you support file attachments?

Yes. You can attach files as large as 2 Megabytes to a maximum total message size of 10 Megabytes.

What is my email address?

Technically speaking, you get two email addresses. yourusername@sigaint.org, and yourusername@sigaintevyh2rzvw.onion. The one ending in ".onion" only works within Tor with other Tor-enabled mail services.

Do I need cookies enabled to use the webmail service?

Yes.

Do I need java/javascript/flash/other horrible plugin enabled to use the webmail service?

No.

How many email accounts may I have?

As many as you want.

Do you ever delete accounts for inactivity?

Yes. If your account is inactive for a period of a year, we will remove it. SIGAINT Pro accounts never expire.

Where are the SIGAINT servers located?

Our main SIGAINT servers are in a secret location and only speak the Tor protocol. Our clearnet-facing servers are actually just proxies, and they contain no user data at all. If our clearnet proxies are seized, we just replace them with absolutely no exposure.

Were you compromised during the FBI's "Operation Onymous"?

Not at all. SIGAINT survived the deanonymization attacks. We run a tight ship, and don't leak data like other services did. We have good opsec and the operators of the SIGAINT service are anonymous just like its users are!

What happens if a government agency seizes the sigaint.org domain name?

First of all, none of our user data would be at risk and you could still access the site from the Tor-facing .onion domain. Second, we would just register another domain name and bring it up on new gateways.

Why the name SIGAINT?

Why SIGNOT? Because it is a spoof on the word SIGINT. :)

Can I use PGP with your service?

Yes, but you must do all of your signing and encrypting locally on your own computer and paste the ciphertext into the compose/reply box. (There are some browser plugins that may assist with this.) We do not want you to trust us with your keys. The system is designed this way on purpose.

Do you support STARTTLS?

Yes, and in both directions. We also support perfect forward secrecy if the other end supports it.

Do you support Roundcube like Tormail used to?

No. We selected Squirrel Mail because it doesn't require javascript. NoScript is your friend. It is best practice to browse Tor with javascript off. We recommend this.

Do you have direct peering with any other services?

Yes. We have direct peering (email doesn't leave Tor at all) with Torbox, Lelantos, bitmessage.ch, mail2tor, ruggedinbox.com, and any other mail server that is reachable on a .onion address.

I lost my password. Is there a way to recover it?

No. There is no way for you to prove to us who you are reliably. Create another account.

Is it possible to change my password?

Yes. Use the password change tool here.

I no longer need my account. Can I delete it?
