The deep web.

Deep web and Dark web.

I already went throug some of the technical differences in the above post, on this one Iam going to get way more personal on the subject.

First a quick reminder of what is the deep web:

The term "deep web" refers to the encrypted network that exists between the TOR services and the clients (normal users/web pages).
On easyer terms, deep web is a section of the Internet that can not be accessed by your normal Internet browser. And where your privacy really is private.

There is a lot of desinformation surrounding the deep web.
It s claimed that you can access to "death fights" there, this is false, and this myth probably started because some random user posted a backyard fight that went the wrong way on a deep web forum, and claimed it was on purpose (at least this is my opinion, not really sure of the facts behind the myth).

Another myth is the “Mariana’s Web” one, this myth claims that there his a deeper network where the most secret stuff happens, if you access the “Mariana’s Web” you get access to the darkest humanity secrets, and you get illegal stuff, like weapons, drugs, assassins for hire, etc everywhere.
This is just a Myth, the deep and dark web does exist, but there is no larger and deeper web below it that governments use to keep secrets :) The name Mariana's Web comes from the deepest trench on the ocean, the Mariana trench.

But in my opinion the most harmful disinformation about the deep web is.

That the deep web is basically used to get access to illegal stuff and perform illegal activities.
This part is not a Myth, but is far far away from being an important part.
For me the Deep Web really is all about freedom and security. It was the deep web that allow us to get a Wiki Leaks, privacy is extremely important to protect persons like Julian Assange from persecutions by the Government or other authorities, it can and is heavily used by activist groups like Anonymous.
For example it is well know that China Government censors their citizens Internet access, and has an heavy hand against those who talk against their government interets. Using the TOR network the persons can get a little more freedom to speak their mind, and maybe someone on the other end of the world might listen.

Give it a try and go search for some .onion websites by yourself using the TOR browser and make your own opinion about the subject, do not just trust the media and the public opinion on this, because it is obviously manipulated. If you do not control something you can'not profit from it and governments/big companies/ society in general, is all about profit, since they can not control the Deepweb they will try their best to minimize/dismiss it
