Tails - Get your privacy back

Tails, because there is never too much security!tailslinux

Almost all O.S. (Operating systems) like Windows, Mac, Ios, Ubuntu, Android, etc will track you and send your details to other persons.

This means that for you to become secure, first and foremost you will need to increase your privacy.

On this post I will guide you step by step on how to achieve this.
Following this steps, In the end you will get a fully working O.S. running on your computer from a pen drive!

The system that I will recommend you to use is named Tails, it is a Unix based system, specially design to keep your online activity anonymous.

You are going to need a Internet connection to download the ISO and a Pen drive (4gb is enough for what you will need)

Lets start with the instructions

Step by step guide to create a bootable Pen disk with Tails the anonymous system

Tails USB

1- The first step will be for you to get the right O.S. In this case we are going to use Tails.
Browse to this website: https://tails.boum.org/install/index.en.html

2- Click on Lets Start the Journey

3- Choose the current system you are using. (Windows, Mac OS X, Debian, Other Linux)

4- Go for the Download And Install Option

5- Download the ISO image. It is a large file 1.14 gb. -you can choose to download from your browser if you are using Firefox, if you are using another browser you can download the torrent file. It can take some time, up to 1 hour to download, depending on your connection speed.

6- Keep following the instructions on the webpage, I will not be able to guide you much more, because the remaining steps depend on the O.S. you are using at the moment.

Basically this is it:
1- You download the ISO - https://tails.boum.org/install/index.en.html
2- You burn the ISO to a USB
3- Boot your system from the USB

If you are having problems to boot with the PEN drive, make sure to change the Boot priority on your BIOS, normally you can do this by pressing the Del key on your keyboard when the computer starts.
Another way to boot with the USB instead of your hard drive, is to enter the Boot Menu by pressing the key that your system indicates when you start your computer. Normally it will be the F12 key
Now you are the proud owner of a FOSS (Free Open Source System) that is running from a USB Pen disk and will allow you to navigate securely and privately over the Internet.
This system is not all you need to be secure. But it is a very good start! You should use this system with the other tips I have on this webpage on security, like using PGP, a good VPN, Socks etc.
